Fourth Grade Class

Thank you to everyone I have met with thus far at conferences.  It is a pleasure working with your children and it was a pleasure having an opportunity to share with you the progress they are already making this year. Thank you for all you do to support your children at home. I look forward to continued contact this year and look forward to meeting everyone else soon.

Welcome to Linden Hill’s 4th grade class! I hope you had a wonderful and exciting summer. I had a wonderful summer relaxing at the pool and visiting the beach with my family.

In a few days you will officially be a 4th grader! I am sure we will have a fabulous year. We are lucky to be moving into a brand new classroom. We will be studying all kinds of interesting topics. We will be reading non-fiction, biographies, mysteries, and poetry to name a few. We will also be doing lots of writing, starting on the very first day. In math, we will use hands on materials to explore multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and geometry. In science, we have three terrific units. The first one includes live animals!!  In social studies we will be studying lots of interesting topics, such as, Colonial America, the Revolutionary War, and the history of Delaware.  As you can see, we have an action packed year of fun and learning planned for you.

Enjoy your last bit of summer and I hope to see you at the Welcome Back visit on Thursday, August 25th at 3pm.  Also, please mark your calendars for our annual Open House on September 22nd, so that you can check out the classroom and hear and see all the fun learning that is going on in fourth grade this year!
